Independent blog≈ 11 min read

A USD account with real account details, a Visa card with cashback, and stablecoins you actually control yourself — Rizon promises the full digital-dollar package without a traditional bank. We took the app apart: how the self-custody wallet works, what the accounts and the card really deliver, where the fees hide, and who should (not) use it.

Our verdict at a glance

Rizon is one of the most complete stablecoin banking apps for people who want to actually own their money — with the responsibility that self-custody brings. That assessment follows our review of the product, its documentation and fees, together with the user feedback available to us.

What works especially well

  • Self-custody: your keys, your funds. Exportable anytime.
  • USD, EUR, GBP, AED, BRL & MXN account details after KYC.
  • Visa card (virtual & physical) with 2.5% cashback on eligible purchases.
  • Deposits via ACH, SEPA, Apple/Google Pay, card or 6+ crypto networks.
  • Payouts to bank accounts in 50+ countries, sub-cent transfer fees.
  • App in multiple languages, 24/7 in-app chat support.

What to factor in

  • Young company (launched 2025, pre-seed stage). Short track record.
  • You alone are responsible for the recovery phrase.
  • Cashback applies to eligible purchases. Check categories and caps.
  • FX and ATM fees apply depending on usage.
  • Tokenized stocks only in select jurisdictions, without shareholder rights.
  • No interest-bearing savings product at the time of writing.
Our bottom line: “Rizon answers the question most stablecoin apps dodge: what if the app disappears tomorrow? With exportable keys, the honest answer is — your money doesn't.”

What exactly is Rizon?

Rizon is a stablecoin-first neobank app operated by Rizon Global, Inc. (registered in Delaware, USA) and launched in 2025. The idea: a digital dollar account without a traditional bank branch — though "anywhere" is Rizon's marketing framing, not a literal promise; actual account eligibility and physical-card availability are both narrower and worth checking for your specific country before you rely on this. Money lives as USDC/USDT stablecoins in a wallet that you, not the company, control.

The growth has been quick: the company reports more than 400,000 users, an app localized into multiple languages (including Portuguese and Indonesian), and a pre-seed round of about $2 million led by Market One Capital. That is impressive traction — and, honestly, still a very early-stage company; we cover what that means in the criticism section.

The pitch in one sentence: get paid in dollars like a local (via real account details), hold the money as digital dollars under your own keys, and spend it worldwide with a Visa card or send it to 50+ countries in seconds.

Self-custody: the feature that separates Rizon from the rest

Most stablecoin card apps are custodial: the company holds your balance, and you trust it the way you trust a bank. Rizon flips that model. At signup, the app creates a self-custodial wallet on your device — protected by Face ID, passkeys and biometrics — and the keys belong to you. Rizon states it cannot touch your funds, and you can export your keys at any time.

In practice that means: if Rizon the company had problems tomorrow, your stablecoins would still be yours, recoverable in any standard wallet with your recovery phrase. That is a structurally different risk profile from custodial apps, where your balance is a claim against the company.

The flip side is personal responsibility. There is no 'forgot password' for a blockchain wallet: whoever holds the recovery phrase holds the money.

The one rule that matters: write your recovery phrase on paper (never a screenshot, never a cloud note), store it in a safe place, and never enter it anywhere except when restoring a wallet yourself. Anyone who asks for your phrase — 'support', 'verification', 'airdrop' — is a scammer, one hundred percent of the time.

Get paid like a local: the account details

This is where Rizon feels most like a bank: after completing the KYC identity verification (ID document and some personal information), you receive dedicated virtual account details in up to six currencies. Clients, employers or platforms can pay you by ACH (US), SEPA (EU) or SWIFT — and the money lands as digital dollars in your wallet, usually within minutes.

For freelancers and remote workers this solves the classic problem: a US client wants to pay in USD, your local bank mangles the transfer with fees and conversions. With Rizon, the payment arrives as dollars and stays dollars until you decide otherwise.

💵

USD

US account & routing number — receive ACH and wires like a US resident.

💶

EUR

European IBAN for SEPA transfers from any EU bank.

💷

GBP

British pound account details for UK-based payers.

🌍

AED · BRL · MXN

Additional local details for the Gulf, Brazil and Mexico.

🛂

KYC required

Identity verification with ID document unlocks the accounts.

📤

Payouts

Send to bank accounts in 50+ countries when you need fiat.

The Visa card: 2.5% cashback and 100M+ merchants

The Rizon Visa arrives virtually within minutes of signup and works instantly with Apple Pay and Google Pay; a physical card can be ordered for tapping in the real world and ATM withdrawals. Acceptance is standard Visa: over 100 million merchants and ATMs worldwide.

The headline perk is 2.5% cashback on eligible purchases — a strong rate in this market (KAST's tiers pay 1.5–3%, RedotPay has no cashback at all). On top, Rizon runs a points program (RizPoints) for activity. As always: 'eligible' is the key word — certain categories and caps apply, so check the current terms in the app before planning your spending around it.

Spending feels like any modern banking app: pay in shops or online, the app converts your stablecoins at the moment of purchase, and you see the transaction with details immediately. Lost card? Freeze it with one tap.

Virtual in minutes, physical on request: the Rizon Visa with 2.5% cashback on eligible purchases.

Getting money in: six crypto networks and normal rails

Rizon is unusually flexible about deposits. From the traditional world: ACH (US) or SEPA (EU) bank transfer, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or credit/debit card. From the crypto world: send USDC or USDT directly from any exchange or wallet across Solana, Ethereum, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche and Base.

That multi-network support matters more than it sounds: it lets you pick the cheapest chain for the job (Solana and Base transfers cost fractions of a cent) instead of paying Ethereum gas by default. The app shows which network it expects — one more reason the classic wrong-network mistake is harder to make here.

🏦

Bank transfer

ACH (US) and SEPA (EU) directly into your account details.

📱

Apple / Google Pay

Instant top-up from the wallet you already use.

💳

Card top-up

Fund with any credit or debit card in minutes.

⚡

6+ networks

USDC/USDT via Solana, Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Avalanche, Base.

🔁

Sub-cent transfers

Send digital dollars globally for fractions of a cent.

🏧

ATM

Withdraw local cash worldwide with the physical card.

Honest criticism: where Rizon has to prove itself

It is a very young company. Launched 2025, roughly $2M pre-seed funding, small team. The product is polished, but track record is measured in months, not years — unlike, say, KAST with its $90M war chest. Growth to 400k users is promising; longevity is unproven. Self-custody softens this risk (your funds are yours regardless), but service continuity — cards, accounts, support — depends on the company thriving.

Self-custody cuts both ways. The greatest strength is also the sharpest edge: lose your recovery phrase and access code, and no support team on earth can restore your money. People who know they lose passwords should honestly consider whether a custodial app fits them better.

The fee print matters. The app is free and top-ups are flexible, but FX conversions, ATM withdrawals and card funding carry fees depending on method and region — and the 2.5% cashback applies to eligible purchases with caps. Nothing hidden, but read the fee schedule before assuming everything is free.

Extras with asterisks. Tokenized stocks (issued by Backed Finance AG) are available only in select jurisdictions and confer no shareholder rights — they track prices, nothing more. Treat them as a bonus feature, not a brokerage replacement.

Create your wallet & secure the phrase

The self-custodial wallet is created at signup, protected by Face ID/passkeys. Write the recovery phrase on paper and store it safely — it IS your money.

Complete KYC verification

Verify your identity with an ID document and the required personal information — this unlocks the USD/EUR/GBP (and AED/BRL/MXN) account details.

Fund the account

Start small: a test deposit via Apple Pay, card, SEPA/ACH or USDC/USDT on Solana or Base. Confirm it arrives before moving larger amounts.

Get the card & set up payments

Activate the virtual Visa, add it to Apple/Google Pay, order the physical card if you want ATM access — and check the cashback terms in the app.

Common questions

Is Rizon a real bank account?

You get real, working account details in USD, EUR and GBP (plus AED, BRL, MXN) in your name after completing KYC verification. Incoming money is converted into stablecoins that you hold in your own self-custodial wallet — so it works like an account for receiving and spending, while you keep direct control of the funds.

What happens if Rizon shuts down?

This is Rizon's structural advantage: the wallet is self-custodial and the keys are exportable. Your stablecoins would remain yours and could be restored in any standard wallet using your recovery phrase. Cards and account details would stop working, but the money itself would not be trapped.

What does the 2.5% cashback really cover?

Cashback applies to eligible purchases with the Rizon Visa card — categories and caps are defined in the current terms inside the app. It is among the strongest rates in the stablecoin card market, but plan with the official terms, not the headline number.

Which countries does Rizon work in?

No — Rizon is not available in every country, and you should not assume your country qualifies just because you've seen a big number quoted somewhere. Rizon's own marketing cites a broad figure for where the card can be used day-to-day, but account eligibility is narrower and described inconsistently even in Rizon's own materials (by residency in some places, by passport nationality in others). On top of that, physical-card shipping is a separate question from account eligibility — a country can be eligible for the account while the physical card still isn't available there. The only reliable way to know: go to Rizon's signup flow yourself, enter your actual country and residency, and check what the app itself confirms — for the account and, separately, for the physical card — before you plan around it.

What fees should I expect?

The app itself is free. Costs arise for certain top-up methods (card funding), FX conversion when spending non-USD, and ATM withdrawals. Stablecoin deposits on cheap networks like Solana or Base cost virtually nothing. Always check the in-app fee schedule for your region.

Is the referral code legitimate?

Rizon runs an official invite program; signing up through a referral link/code supports this blog (disclosure below every button) and never costs you extra. The code can be entered during registration if the link doesn’t carry it over automatically.

Risk notice

  • Crypto risk: crypto assets, including stablecoins, involve risk up to total loss. Always do your own research BEFORE using any crypto product — understand the asset and the provider first.
  • Network warning: when sending stablecoins, ALWAYS select the correct network (e.g. Solana, Ethereum/ERC20, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Avalanche, Base). The wrong network can mean permanent, irreversible loss.
  • Self-custody responsibility: whoever holds the recovery phrase holds the money. Losing the phrase (and access to your device) means permanent loss — no support team can restore it.
  • Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. No legitimate support will ever ask for it — such requests are always scams.
  • Stablecoins are issued by third parties (e.g. Circle, Tether) and carry issuer and de-peg risk; balances are not covered by any bank deposit insurance.
  • Fees, cashback conditions, limits and availability can change at any time — the app's current terms at the moment of use prevail.
